3D Modeling
Low-Poly Model: Otohime Fuwa
For my second semester 3D Animation & Rigging class, we had to design a low-polygon character in Blender, which would then be animated with Mixamo and imported to Unreal Engine. I decided to make a model of Otohime Fuwa, a character I had created years ago for a book series I'd been writing.
Fuwa is a teenage girl who was raised in a fishing village in a fantasy world of my creation. Her parents drowned during a hurricane, so she always wears a diving suit out of a fear of water. She's about nine feet tall. I have no idea if that's just how tall she is or if that's just how tall the suit makes her.
Modeled in Blender, textured in Adobe Substance Painter, and animated with Mixamo. The model has 1,793 vertices and 3,581 edges.
Process
A chibi-style drawing of Fuwa made before the model. I simplified her design quite a bit for 3D.
