Pokémon Fan Art

Several years ago, I decided to go through every Pokémon and rank them on a scale of 1 to 10 based on how much I liked them for whatever reason. I then spent several months drawing the ones that I ranked as 10, which meant my absolute favourites.

Snubbull, a purple-pink bulldog Pokémon, is surrounded by Maushold, a family of white mice that count as a single Pokémon.

Snubbull has one of my favourite shiny colorations, hence why I used that instead of the standard colouring. I used to find Maushold's open mouths kind of off-putting, but now I find them endearing (especially because of the creepy goblin screeches they make in the anime).

Bellibolt, a cartoon frog Pokémon with a dynamo on its stomach, Cubchoo, a polar bear cub with a frozen snot bubble, and Cacnea, a living cactus with a Jack-o-lantern face, pose together.

My goal for this drawing was to have these three posing like a Super Sentai team. Why? I dunno.

Chespin, a green and brown hedgehog Pokémon, recoils from a pile of burned berries offered happily by Fuecoco, a red fire-breathing crocodile.

I had a lot of fun with posing Chespin and making the skull-shaped smoke.

Wurmple, a very small caterpillar Pokémon, wants to ride on the head of Scolipede, a gigantic centipede, like its friend Nymble, a small grasshopper.

Wurmple really wants to ride alongside Nymble. I love the huge difference in size between Scolipede and the other two.

I find this drawing a little plain in terms of the posing and staging, but I do like how the big Pumpkaboo is looming.

Johtonian Wooper, a blue amphibian, Paldean Wooper, a brown amphibian, and Goomy, a purple slug-like dragon, play happily in a puddle.

This is probably one of my favourite things I've ever drawn.

Three Spoink, pig Pokémon with large springs for tails instead of feet, bounce in the foreground. Two are happy, while only one notices the Midnight-Form Lycanroc, a red werewolf-like Pokémon, looms behind them.

I have a toy of Midnight-Form Lycanroc that I used to figure out how it was supposed to look from this angle.

Impidimp, a pink and purple imp Pokémon, has stolen one of the blades of Doublade, a pair of living swords. The other sword cries without its partner

I wasn't sure how to make the Doublade look expressive, but I love how the tears turned out.

Croagunk, a frog-like Pokémon, giggles to itself after throwing mud at Sneasel, a black cat Pokémon with sharp claws. Sneasel prepares to attack in retaliation while a Hisuian Sneasel, which is grey and purple, sighs.

I was originally going to have have Hisuian Sneasel attacking Croagunk because they're the same type, but then I checked and saw that Johtonian Sneasel is the more vindictive species.

Hatterene, a Pokémon that looks like a witch with a hand on the end of its hat, holds the owl-like Pokémon Rowlet in its hand. Furret, a striped ferret Pokémon, sits at Hatterene's feet.

I, like Hatterene, woulc be absolutely delighted if I got a visit from a Rowlet.

What's better than one seal Pokémon? Two! What's better than two? Let's not go nuts, people.

Likitung, a lizard-like Pokémon with a long tongue, has its tongue stuck to Eiscue, a Pokémon that looks like a penguin with its head encased in a large block of ice.

I remember loving Likitung as a kid because of how many adults in my life thought it was disgusting, but I just think it's adorable. And I love penguins, so Eiscue was a big hit with me.

I didn't realize while drawing this that Sandygast's official height includes its shovel, so mine ended up looking too big. But I do love Sandygast, so that's alright.

Two Teddiursa, Pokémon resembling baby bears, eating honey from a pot patterned after Vespiquen.

The first drawing I made in this collection, these Teddiursa were styled after some stickers of Teddiursa that had been available in Pokémon Go at the time. The pot they're eating from is styled after Vespiquen (who only scored an 8 on my scale at thus was not included).
